Biggest sand sculpture of Santa Claus with plastic bottles (world record)
On the eve of Christmas 2018, world renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik of Puri, Odisha created the world’s biggest sand sculpture of Santa Claus with plastic bottles at Puri beach. Assisted by 40 of his students, he completed the 30 ft high and 100 ft wide sculpture in two days using nearly 800 tonnes of sand and 10,000 plastic bottles. He also created two Christmas trees. The sculpture showing the slogan `Beat Plastic Pollution’ remained on display till the New Year day.
