First military museum by civilian
Subedar Dharmaji Khambe Memorial Museum at Dr Ambedkar Sanskrutik Bhavan, Pune, Maharashtra, set up by Sudhakar Dharmaji Khambe on April 9, 2000, houses more than 3,000 military articles related to Mahar Regiment of the Indian Army. It is the country’s first such military museum to be set up by a civilian. The museum has rare photographs, cap badges, shoulder titles, medals, uniforms etc, collected over the past 20 years.
