First to win International Super Randonneur title
Sheetal Bambulkar, an endurance cyclist from Mumbai, won the International Super Randonneur (ISR) award on June 3, 2017, becoming the first Indian to do so. She successfully completed a series of four unsupported long distance cycling rides or brevets (200 km, 300 km, 400 km and 600 km) in four different countries within stipulated time frames as prescribed under the Randonneur Mondiaux code. The event was completed on two continents – Asia and Europe – and registered as ISR 2C.
