First woman fighter pilots
Flying Officers Avani Chaturvedi, Bhawana Kanth and Mohana Singh became the first woman fighter pilots of India as they were inducted for the first time in Indian Air Force fighter squadron on June 18, 2016. After successful completion of the challenges and rigours of the training schedule, this first batch of three flew Hawk advanced jet trainers before flying supersonic fighters.
