Largest mesenteric tumour removed

Dr Peethambaran M S (surgical gastroenterologist) and Dr Baburajan A K (cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon), assisted by a 12-member team, performed a rare and highly complex surgery in which they successfully removed the largest mesenteric fibromatosis (desmoid tumour) measuring 30 × 25 cm from a 29-year-old male patient at Avitis Institute of Medical Sciences, Nemmara, Palakkad, Kerala, India on March 26, 2019. The 3.5 kg jejunal mesenteric tumour was removed en masse in 6 hours.
