Largest Puthanpana recitation
The world’s largest Puthanpana mass recitation was conducted at the premises of St Xavier’s Church, South Thanissery in Thrissur district of Kerala, India on 9 April 2017. A group comprising 1,518 parishioners of the Syro-Malabar Catholic parish recited in unison the 12th ‘padam’ (chapter) of the famous Malayalam poem dealing with the life of Jesus Christ, written in the early 18th century by German missionary Arnos Pathiri (Johann Ernst Hanxleden).
