Most Art Paintings Inside Coconut Shells
Sreeja T V (Sreeja Kalappurakkal) of Thrissur, Kerala has accomplished 351 art paintings inside coconut shells, the largest number of such paintings by an artist. These paintings, reflecting common childhood memories and heritage of Kerala, were showcased at ‘Shararanthal: A Ray of Nostalgia’, an exhibition held in Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery, Thrissur from Nov 22-28, 2024. Sreeja also exhibited a unique 5 feet tall map of India depicting India’s cultural diversity and traditional and tribal folk art forms from the States, which she created using crushed coconut shell powder.
