Most malignant tumours removed from the abdomen
Surgical removal of the most malignant tumours from a patient’s abdomen was achieved by Consultant Gastrointestinal Surgeon Dr Sujith Philip and team at Believers Church Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla, Kerala on Nov 16, 2018. In the laparotomy procedure which lasted 6:40 hours, he removed 22 cancerous tumours from the abdomen of a 66-year-old male patient suffering from Recurrent Malignant Retroperitoneal Myxoid Liposarcoma. He was assisted by the team comprising Assistant Professor Dr Rahul D Kunju, Consultant Urologists Dr Aby Madan and Dr Thomson Jacob, Anaesthetists Dr Jithin Abraham and Dr Dona Elsa Jose and Staff Nurse Sheena Abraham].
