Kolkata-based orthopaedic surgeon, pianist and music therapy researcher Dr Sumanta Thakur, MBBS, D Ortho, MCH (Ortho), has been using music therapy before, during and after surgery, with the benefits of less anxiety, less sedatives and faster recovery for patients. He has successfully carried out such ‘musical’ procedures on more than 100 patients, as of August 2019.
