Oldest woman to give birth
Setting a new world record, 74-year-old E Mangayamma of Draksharamam in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh gave birth to twin baby girls, through in-vitro fertilization (IVF), at a private hospital in Guntur on Sept 5, 2019. She had remained childless since her marriage to E Raja Rao in 1962. The caesarean section was performed under the supervision of her gynaecologist, Dr Sanakkayala Aruna.
