Swimming five channels in 38 days
Open water swimmer Tanmay Mahendra Sutar (b Jan 2, 2003) of Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra swam five channels in the Arabian Sea within 38 days from Jan 17 – Feb 23, 2020, of which he was the first to accomplish two, i.e. Karanja Port to Mandwa Beach (9 km) in 3:06:25 hr on Feb 3 and Elephanta Island to Belapur Port (12 km) in 3:20:10 hr on Feb 23, 2020. His other swimming feats included Elephanta Island to Gateway of India (12 km) in 4:24:31 hr on Jan 17, Dharamtar Port to Rewas Port (18 km) in 3:59:57 hr on Jan 31 and Elephanta Island to Kasa Island (15 Km) in 5:31:03 hr on Feb 17, 2020.
