World’s largest Margam Kali performance
As part of its 60th anniversary celebrations, Mathruvedhi, an association of mothers from the Catholic Archdiocese of Trichur, Kerala, India organized the world’s largest Margam Kali performance at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral Church premises on Dec 22, 2017. A team of 1,200 women dressed in traditional mundu and chatta (dhoti and blouse) and standing in circles around a lit Nilavilakku (lamp) presented the traditional dance form of Kerala’s St Thomas Christians for 10 minutes from 4.00 pm.
