World’s tallest statue
The Statue of Unity, a 182-metre (597 ft) tall statue of India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel standing on a river island facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam in Narmada, Gujarat, India is the tallest statue in the world. The total height of the structure including the base is 240 m (790 ft). Designed by Ram V Sutar, the concrete statue with steel frame and bronze cladding was built by Larsen & Toubro. It was constructed under the auspices of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Rashtriya Ekta Trust and was dedicated to the nation on Oct 31, 2018.
